Our chemistry Master's Programme in English will not only help you learn technical terms and improve your academic writing in English, but also expand your vocabulary for everyday use, preparing you well for a career in academia or on the international job market. Contact with your fellow German students will also allow you to learn the basics of German - and of course the University offers German language courses which can count towards your supplementary subjects!

By interacting with German as well as fellow international students, you will not only broaden your horizons, but also expand your personal network. Be it through international professors, our partner universities worldwide, or your Thesis supervisor's research connections, you will open the door to a wide array of potential internship or employment possibilities.

In our program, you will work in intercultural teams right from the start of your Masters programm. You will learn how to deal effectively with cultural differences and broaden your perspective on the world. A Great Education - Tuition-free

The University of Würzburg does not charge tuition. There is a minimal semester fee (Winter Semester 2025: 168,50€), which includes a transportation pass for the city, discounted prices in the cafeteria, and a host of advisory services by Student Services (Studierendenwerk). For a minimal monthly fee, you can even upgrade the transportation pass to be valid across Germany

Right in the Middle of Things

Würzburg lies at the heart of both Germany and the European Union, making it an ideal city for exploring and travel. There are international airports in nearby Nürnberg and Frankfurt, so whether you're going home to visit or setting out to explore, you'll be perfectly situated in Würzburg.  The city of Würzburg itself is a popular day-trip for locals, with the Fortress Marienberg, the Bishops Residence, and the surrounding vineyards - and with students representing roughly a fourth of the population, there's plenty of student life to help you make the most of your time in Würzburg. 

A Host of Extracurriculars

No matter your interests, there's bound to be a student organisation to help you find friends and community here in Würzburg. From choir or orchestra, to sports, theater, or student government, there's something for everyone. The Würzburg International Network organizes regular events specifically geared at international students and our Faculty's student councils organise regular partys and events for our students, where you can connection with other internationals and German students alike.
