Outstanding publications!

09/08/2017

Two recent publications by AK Brixner are among the outstanding ones.

The paper "Generating Laser-Pulse Enantiomers", published on 29th August 2017 in Optics Express (http://doi.org/10.1364/OE.25.021735), has been chosen as "Editor's Pick" because of its excellent scientific quality. Andreas Steinbacher and other co-workers of the AK Brixner explain how to generate exact "mirror images" of ultrashort laser pulses. With this experimental setup (see photo) they were able to carry out time resolved "circular dichroism" spectroscopy of chiral molecules with high ranges for the first time.

The second paper "Optimizing Sparse Sampling for 2D Electronic Spectroscopy", published in The Journal of Chemical Physics (http://doi.org/10.1063/1.4976309) was chosen as part of "2017 JCP Editors’ Choice"- Collection, which compiles the moste innovative and important papers of the year 2017. Sebastian Röder and his co-workers developed a new data acquisition concept which significantly shortens  acquisition time in multi-dimensional spectroscopy. This is based on optimised "Compressed Sensing“ and an innovative four-dimensional von-Neumann-representation of coherent two-dimensional spectra.
