Poster award for Jonas Spengler at CURO-π6 in Canada
08/29/2025The CURO-π6 – International Conference on the Synthesis and Application of Curved Organic π-Molecules and Materials was held in St. John’s, Canada in July 2025.
The familialy CURO-π conferences biennially highlight the latest non-planar π-systems, a field of increasing interest among organic synthethecists and material scientists. For Jonas Spengler (Würthner group) it was a perfect platform to present and discuss his PhD project on negatively curved polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with experts in the field.
For his presentation on the “Synthesis of four-heptagon-containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by a versatile borylation-annulation protocol” he was honoured with a poster award. The book price “Molecular Nanographenes”, which he received, might be a quite useful source of information for the introductory chapter of his thesis.
