Congratulations Martin Volek!

For his doctoral thesis “Development and use of deoxyribozymes that generate color and fluorescence.” Martin Volek has been awarded with the Sanofi Award in Pharmacy. He completed his doctoral project in the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Edward Curtis. Since April he strengthens our research team in Würzburg.

The Sanofi Award is part of the Scientific Prizes 2025 of the French Embassy in the Czech Republic. It's for scientists under 33, who have done their project in research institutions in the Czech Republic.The goal of this competition is to award the best PhD research work in experimental biomedical and pharmaceutical research. Each year there are three prizes for the Sanofi Award. First and second place also get the possibility to go for a one month internship to any French research institution.
