“Keck-Köppe” Award Ceremony with Dr. Gustavo Fernández-Huertas

16.07.2014

Due to his excellent research results, which were published in top chemistry journals and also received attention at international conferences, the 'Sofja-Kovalevskaja Awardee' was awarded with the newly established “Keck-Köppe-Förderstiftung” on July 12, 2014.

Within the frame of a concert of the academic orchestra in the big hall of the Würzburg Conservatory, the prize (5000 €) was presented to the Spain born junior professor by David Brandstätter, chairmen of the “Universitätsbund”.

The basic concept of the award, namely to support young scientists but also musicians, was started by Hans-Joachim Köppe and his spouse Elisabeth Keck, who both unfortunately died last year.

With this prize Dr. Fernández-Huertas is supposed to support his own research activities, which are mainly dedicated to “Self-Sorting in Supramolecular Aggregates”, “Aqueous Self-Sorting”, “BODIPY Dye Aggregates and OPE-Bases Metallosupramolecular Polymers”.
