Humboldt fellowship awarded to Jake Greenfield

14.07.2022

Congratulations to Jake for receiving the prestigious Humboldt fellowship to conduct a two-year research project in the group of Frank Würthner in the field of supramolecular polymers. Jake was able to celebrate this award over a beer at a recent group BBQ (where he was fortunate not to bring the UK weather with him).

Jake Greenfield has previously worked on self-assembled metallopolymers (PhD thesis in the group of Prof. Jonathan Nitschke at the University of Cambridge) and photoswitchable azoheteroarenes for energy storage applications (Postdoc in the group of Prof. Matthew Fuchter at Imperial College London). Jake now plans to investigate novel approaches to initiating supramolecular polymerisation, with the aim of forming a variety of self-assembled polymers in a controlled manner.
