New Professor of Organic Chemistry

Anke Krüger has been appointed Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Würzburg. She succeeds Prof. Manfred Christl who retired in spring 2007.

Until now, Anke Krüger held a Junior Professor position at the Otto-Diels-Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Christiania Albertina University in Kiel, Germany. Her research focuses on new carbon materials, mainly the surface chemistry of nanoscale diamond. Recently, she has published a book on "New Carbon Materials". Prof. Krüger will teach organic chemistry in Würzburg starting from the fall semester 2008/2009. Her classes include "Organic Chemistry II (Structure and Reactivity)" for advanced diploma students and the course "Organic Chemistry for students of medicine, biomedicine, dentistry, engineering and natural sciences".
