Travelling to Würzburg

Convenient transport connections, easy accessibility in the middle of Germany

Arriving by car
With the A3 and A7 motorways, important European traffic axes intersect in Würzburg.

  • A3 from Frankfurt (exit Wü-Heidingsfeld)
  • A3 from Nuremberg (exit Wü-Ost or Wü Heidingsfeld)
  • A7 from Kassel (exit Estenfeld)

Arriving by train
As an ICE hub, Würzburg has excellent rail connections. From the city centre to the campus, bus lines 14, 114, 214 run practically every 10 minutes

Arrival by plane
There are three international airports within a radius of around 150 km.

  • Nuremberg Airport: 110 km
  • Frankfurt/Main Airport: 120 km
  • Stuttgart Airport: 165 km

There is an hourly direct ICE train to Frankfurt Airport (90 minutes), and Nuremberg Airport can be reached by train or car in just over an hour.
