ZIM project - a compact PALS spectrometer for NDT

ANALYTICA-2026 - 24. to 26.März 2026 – Presentation of the new spectrometer LifeTimeSpec

The spectrometer für Non-destructive Testing (NDT)

Information on ANALYTICA-2026 March 24. to 26. in Munich

March 2026: We will present the first prototype of our new LifeTimeSpec on the ANALYTICA 2026 in Munich.

You will find us on the ANALYTICA in Hall A2 at Booth 134A (down to the right) – there we will answer all your questions.

Complimentary tickets are available upon request: Simply send an email directly to our partner Aero-Laser

with the subject line "Life-Time-Spec-2026".

Information on different use cased you will find here starting form March 16th 2026.

  • Sintering of Ceramics and Metall Powders
  • Aluminum Alloys: Cast and wrought alloys
  • Metallic materials: e.g. steel, aluminium, titanium
  • Polymers and other microporous materialien
  • Battery materials
  • Functionalisation of single crystal ceramics
  • Semiconductors and ceramic singel crystals like sapphire

The new LifeTimeSpec: small, compact with complete digital electronics

going along with an easy-to-use software for data acquisition and data analysis

May 2024: New project (220.000 €) ZIM-Mittelstandsförderung

Since June 2024 we are developing together with the compony Aero-Laser (Garmisch-Partenkirchen) a compact,  PALS equipment for industrial use in die Non Destructive Testing (NDT).

PALS is an acronym for "Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy" – this is a method for non-destructively prove lattice defects (vacancies and dislocations) but also grain boundaries and pores.

In polymers the free volume can be characterised and in micro- and mesoporous systems the detection of open AND closed porosity is possible.

In March 2026: We will present the first prototyp on the fair  ANALYTICA 2026 in Munich.
