Hirak Das und Kollegen nutzen hochauflösende Massenspektrometrie und bioinformatische Normalisierung um die absolute Zahl an Kopien für jedes peroxisomale Protein unter verschiedenen Wachstumsbedingungen zu bestimmen.
Zusammen mit Arbeitsgruppen au Portugal und den USA konnten wir das erste neue Peroxin seit zwanzig Jahren beschreiben und in Hefe und menschlichen Zellen funktionell beschreiben. Die Arbeit ist jetzt in Nature Cell Biology erschienen.
