Literature Seminar in Dresden

30.06.2017

In June, our working group visited Dresden for four days to present and discuss relevant scientific topics with interest to our research, such as organic solar cells, enzyme mimics, movement within crystals, spectroscopy of aggregates, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, polymorphism, photoelectrochemical cells and catalysis. During our visit, lectures were given by group members and created fruitful discussions.

During a day visit to Novaled GmbH, our group members could experience the inner life of a successful german start-up. Starting with the company’s history and structure, we also had the great opportunity to visit the laboratories, where cutting edge OLED research is conducted, and to discuss with several employees. After an interesting program and a nice guided tour through Dresden Neustadt, the day finished with a joint dinner in the city center.

Besides the scientific program, we went sight-seeing in Dresden and also hiking in the lovely Saxon Switzerland, where we climbed the world-famous Bastei. Overall, we had a pleasant week and look forward to next year’s seminar!
