Poster prize awarded to Arne Homann
10.06.2010Congratulations to Arne Homann! He was awarded the poster prize at the 15th european carbohydrate symposium held in Vienna.
About 700 scientists from 38 countries presented current topics in carbohydrate chemistry. 170 talks were given and 384 posters were presented, demonstrating the importance and the impact of the eurocarb symposium.This year's eurocarb 15 focussed on the basic understanding of the role, sugars play in the genesis of infecteous diseases, inflammation processes or cancer. The aim is to find new diagnostic and therapeutical strategies leading to vaccines and drugs against viruses, bacteria and fungi by means of glycobiotechnology. And that's just the main topic of Arne Homann's work!
