Prof. Matthias Lehmann and Maximilian Baumann participated at the "colloque sur les systèmes anisotrope auto-organisés" conference at Calais (France). The Colloque Francophone sure les Cristaux Liquides (CFCL), which was created in 1983, has since then brought together chemists, physicists and biologists working on self-organised anisotropic systems every two years.
As an invited speaker, Matthias Lehmann gave a talk about "The Structural Control of Complex Mesophases via Intrinsic Free Space as a Design Tool" at the conference. Maximilian Baumann participated with a poster contribution about "Polar liquid-crystalline phases of new umbrella-shaped subphthalocyanines with oligothienyl extension".
Together with researchers from the group of Dharmendra Pratap Singh (Maître de Conférences) at École d'ingénieurs du Littoral Côte d'Opale (EiLCO) electronic properties for new compounds were investigated in collaboration. The project was supported with the PROCOPE Mobility Grant by the Department of Science and Technology at the French ambassy in Berlin, which gave the opportunity for a scientific visit for 4 weeks.
