Hermann was selected as one of six finalists from six European countries to present their work at the Symeres facilities in Nijmegen (The Netherlands) for the Symeres PhD Prize for Excellence in Chemistry in Life Sciences Research" coordinated by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry Young Scientist Network (EFMC-YSN) that recognizes outstanding research in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology by early career researchers during their thesis work.
