New Paper Alert in Chem. Commun.

We are excited to announce the publication of a new paper in Chemical Communications, based on Clara Li's Bachelor's thesis. Clara worked closely with Jiarong on this project, with Lasse providing crucial computational support. In this study, we demonstrated that decent photoswitching properties can be achieved without the need for ortho-amination of the phenyl ring in aryliminopyrazoles. Instead, iminobispyrazoles (IBPs) offer a viable alternative.
Title: Iminobispyrazole (IBP) Photoswitches: Two Pyrazole Rings Can Be Better Than One

Abstract: We recently demonstrated that suitably functionalised aryliminopyrazoles can exhibit useful photoswitching properties. This study investigates the photoswitching potential of iminobispyrazoles (IBPs). We find that the regiochemistry of the IBPs strongly dictates their photoswitching properties, most notably, the λmax, the photostationary state, and the thermal half-life of the Z-isomer.
