On the last joint PhD Students Meeting of the Special Research Networks SFB 630 ("Recognition, Preparation and Functional Analysis of Agents against Infectious Diseases", coordinator Prof. Gerhard Bringmann, Würzburg) and SFB 766 ("The Bacterial Cell Envelope: Structure, Function and Infection Interface", coordinator Prof. Wolfgang Wohlleben, Tübingen), together with the Research Group FOR 854 ("Post-Genomic Strategies for New Antibiotic Drugs and Targets", coordinator Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Sahl, Bonn) with more than 60 participants, two of the PhD students from the group of G. Bringmann (TP A2 "A New Class of Agents against Pathogens of Tropical Diseases") were awarded. Dieudonné Tshitenge Tshitenge received one of the prizes for the best talks for his contribution "New Potential Markers for KILMA, a Congolese Phytomedicine". Blaise Kimbadi Lombe was honored with a poster prize for his presentation "Mbandakamines A and B: New Dimeric Naphthylisoquinoline Alkaloids". Both were the only awardees from Chemistry in Würzburg, both are supported by the excellence scholarship program BEBUC.
