Format and Program

Lectures in combination with workshops will be given by the speakers aiming at the deepening of knowledge about Catalysis and Organometallic Synthesis. A poster session will give the opportunity to all participants to present their own scientific results. Furthermore, the Summer School is embedded into a diversified social program, e.g. a wine tasting in the historical wine cellars beneath the baroque building of the Residence Palace.

Target audience

The school is aimed at advanced master- as well as PhD students or postdocs with a background in chemistry. Admission is limited to no more than 50 participants.

The summer school will be held at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Würzburg, one of the top ranked chemistry faculties in Germany and Europe. Würzburg is a vibrant student town in northern Bavaria with several historic landmarks. The city can be conveniently reached by car, train or by air from Frankfurt airport (train connection to/from in 1:20h). The city with its population of 130.000 is known not only for the international reputation of its University with 26.000 students, but also for its rich historic heritage (part of the UNESCO world heritage) and for its rich regional winemaking culture.
