We are seeking internationally recognized scientists working on the analysis of biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids and metabolites) using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry techniques in conjunction with advanced data analysis concepts, e.g. involving machine learning. We will consider candidates with an impactful research portfolio, as evidenced by an outstanding funding and publication record, who will strengthen interdisciplinary research projects of the Faculty and the University. In addition to the establishment of an internationally visible unit in the field of proteome research, candidates are expected to actively participate in the conception and implementation of the newly founded JMU Center for Artificial Intelligence and in research initiatives of the life sciences centers of the University (e.g., Biocenter, Rudolf Virchow Center, Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research).
Furthermore, candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching and in supervising PhD students. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is an integral part of this position.
