Three PhD graduations and a new team member

09/15/2025

We say goodbye to three group members and welcome a new PhD student

This year, Rebecca Fröhlich (left), Hans-Peter Solowan (middle, top) and Ajay Jayachandran (middle, bottom) have successfully completed their doctorates. At the same time, Anitta Benoy (right) joined our group.

Over the course of this year, three members of our research group have successfully completed their doctorates. In March, Hans-Peter Solowan successfully defended his dissertation on „Coherent multidimensional and pump–probe spectroscopy in a supersonic molecular beam and in liquid phase using action-based detection on the example of azulene“. In summer, Rebecca Fröhlich successfully completed her PhD on the topic „Energy and electron transfer processes investigated with spectroelectrochemistry and ultrafast spectroscopy”. Ajay Jayachandran also successfully finished his doctorate on „Isolation of nonlinear signals in coherent optical spectroscopy: Disentangling single and multi-particle dynamics”. We thank Ajay, Hans-Peter und Rebecca for their commitment and contributions to the research at our department and wish them all the best for the future.

At the same time, we are happy to announce that Anitta Benoy started her PhD this summer and is now part of our team. Anitta received her Bachelor and Master of Science in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM). Her upcoming research will focus on higher-order transient absorption spectroscopy. We welcome Anitta and look forward to exciting new research projects.
