Takeshi Maeda from Osaka, Japan Invited as Guest Researcher at the Institute of Organic Chemistry

Dr. Takeshi Maeda

We are happy to announce that Prof. Würthner could attract Takeshi Maeda from Japan as a guest researcher here in Würzburg. Dr. Maeda completed his Ph. D. work in 2006 in the field of polymer chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Toshikazu Takata at the Dept. of Organic and Polymeric Materials, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan.  After this he worked as a researcher for the “Yashima Super-Structured Helix Project, Exploratory Research for Advanced Technology (ERATO)” for the Japan Science and Technology Agency. Following he got ahead as Research Assistant Professor at the Kyushu University, Japan and as lastly as Assistant Professor at the “Graduate School of Engineering at the Osaka Prefecture University, Japan.

His previous career shows profound experience in various research fields, such as dynamic covalent chemistry, functional dye chemistry and many more.  Moreover he has been awarded with several prizes and rewarded with grants in his home country. For instance in 2011 he received “The Prize for Paper” (The Chemical Society of Japan) for his commitments and from 2010-2011 he was given “A Grant-In-Aid for Young Scientists (B) (22750180) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.” He is also member of “The Chemical Society of Japan”, “The Society of Polymer Science, Japan”, “The Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry of Japan” and the “American Chemical Society”.  He can be proud of a lot of publications and top references and we are curious about him pushing research here in Würzburg.
