26th ISPPCC
07/30/2025From July 8 to 12, Daniel and Simon represented the Würthner group at the 26th International Symposium on Photochemistry and Photophysics of Coordination Compounds (ISPPCC) in sunny Milazzo, Italy. They joined their boss, Frank Würthner, who contributed with a talk on the group’s latest research in the field of artificial photosynthesis.

ISPPCC is the world leading conference dealing with light-induced properties of coordination compounds and solar energy conversion. It brought together photochemists from all over the world over a rich and engaging program full of exciting discussions and insights into cutting-edge research.
Both PhD students presented posters during the event. Simon presented his work on “Room-Temperature Phosphorescence of Cocrystals of Aromatic Bisimides and Triplet Sensitizer Pt(acac)2” and Daniel received a poster award for his contribution with the title “Harnessing an Oxide Relay Pathway in a Molecular Cleft for Light-Driven Water Oxidation”.

A great week filled with science, sunshine, and international exchange - and a fantastic opportunity to connect with the global photochemistry community.
