Coming back to Windischleuba in 2026

This year in March, Dikshita and Lars travelled to Windischleuba to attend an NMR Summer School on spin chemistry organized by Prof. Dr. Jörg Matysik's research group. As always, the program offered a series of lectures and seminars with excellent NMR scientists. As part of the cultural and historical program, a field trip was organized to Altenburg Castle, birthplace of the famous Altenburg playing Cards. This was a great opportunity, especially for new PhD students, to forge new connections in the field. Additionally, this was an apt opportunity to see NMR from a different angle. While most of us deal mainly with the experimental side of the spectroscopy, Windischleuba pushes you deeper into its (arguably more daunting) theoretical side. Condensed into a single week, that's certainly an experience. But Lars and Dikshita went through it like champs, and came back with more knowledge than they went in with. And of course they met the cat who, as per usual, could be found napping on the antique armchairs (even though he's not allowed to, but who cares? not Bodo).
