Lectures in Paris and Mumbai
10/08/2025In October 2025, Claudia Höbartner presented invited lectures at ChemBioParis 2025 and the ACS Global Scientific Conference at IIT Bombay.
Paris and Mumbai are always worth a visit, especially when combined with inspiring scientific discussions and international networking.
“Approaching biology through chemistry”. This was the motto of this year's ChemBioParis, organised by the International Chemical Biology Society (ICBS) and the European Chemical Biology Symposium (ECBS). Sorbonne University hosted the international event from 6 to 9 October.
In her presentation entitled ‘Targeting RNA by alkyltransferase ribozymes’, Claudia introduced artificially produced RNA catalysts that can covalently modify RNA with functional groups, thereby expanding the toolkit of RNA chemical biology.
The journey continued to the Global Scientific Conference hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT) in Mumbai from 8 to 11 October 2025. The American Chemical Society (ACS) and IIT-Bombay are the organisers of this scientific conference focusing on “Chemistry for Life”.
Leading experts and emerging talents from around the world were brought together here to discuss and explore the latest advances in healthcare, medicine, chemical biology and life sciences, as well as new technologies for tackling unmet challenges at the interface of chemistry, biology and medicine.
