"Wojciech Świętosławski Prize" for Dr. Agnieszka Nowak-Król
06/21/2016Dr. Agnieszka Nowak-Król, Humboldt fellow in the group of Prof. Frank Würthner, was awarded the 'Wojciech Świętosławski Prize 2nd degree' by the Warsaw branch of Polish Chemical Society on June 17, 2016, for outstanding scientific achievements in the field of chemistry, chemical technology and related sciences.
After undergraduate and graduate studies and an excellent PhD in Poland, Nowak-Król joined the group of Frank Würthner in January 2014. In an interview two years ago, she joyfully said that she came to Würzburg to do research in "one of the best groups worldwide". Actually, her project on porphyrine and corrole based supramolecular structures for artificial photosynthesis and organic electronics has been very successful, calling the attention of the Polish Chemical Society and boosting her scientific career.
In autumn 2016, she is going to take another big step forward: she will be a junior group leader at the Bavarian Polymer Institute (BPI). The BPI is a joint research institute of the universities of Bayreuth, Erlangen-Nürnberg and Würzburg, located at the CNC.
