Junior Research Group Leader - Molecular Nanosystems
(Synthetic, Physical or Theoretical Chemistry)

 

The research group is part of the "Excellent Ideas" Program of the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg.
It will be hosted by the Center for Nanosystems Chemistry  and is expected to complement ongoing research topics in the field of supramolecular functional materials.

The research may focus on either synthetic, physical or theoretical chemistry aspects.

Teaching duties and, if requested, obtaining the Habilitation (venia legendi) will be associated with one of the institutes of the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

We are pleased to offer you an opportunity to conduct independent research in your field, leading your own junior research group with members of your choice (1 postdoc and 1 doctoral researcher) for a duration of up to 5 years. Salary is governed by the Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder (Collective Agreement for the Public Service of German Federal States, TV-L). Who are we looking for? Applicants who wish to apply should:

  • have several years of research experience, preferably internationally acquired;
  • have completed their university degrees with high marks and doctorates with distinction 
  • have published in international journals; 
  • have a passion for teaching (5 weekly contact hours).
